One of the main reasons we planned a trip to Utah in October was so that we could bless Chayse in Utah with our extended family in attendance.
We blessed Chayse on October 12, 2015 in my mom’s ward and Broc’s grandparents ward.
We didn’t hold a big get together after the blessing, but I did want some photos of the day. So we took a few quick family shots outside of the church and then again once we got back to my mom’s house.
All of us with my mom, Grandma Cindy.

This little girl was so funny because she cried through the entire blessing, but the second Broc lifted her up into a sitting position, she was just fine! Silly girl! Of course, silly us for not just having him hold her that way, any way. 🙂

All of my siblings always get together at my mom’s on Sunday afternoons, and so while we didn’t do a big get together for Chayse’s blessing, the afternoon was still filled with lots of family time and after pictures it was time for lunch. We were all starving! One dish I always request when we are in town is Chicken Pesto! My grandparents owned an Italian restaurant years ago, and this recipe is a definite family favorite from those restaurant days. One of these days I’ll actually get around to doing a recipe post here on the site. 🙂
Such a healthy and colorful meal, and SO yummy!
And after lunch it was time for some family soccer. We split up the teams so they were mixed with adults and kids (I have 5 nieces and nephews) and we ended up playing for quite a while and having A LOT of fun!
Titan liked playing the goalie the best.
All the grandkids in a team huddle with Uncle Conner and Aunt Ashley (my brother and sister-in-law).
Of course, Chayse was too little for soccer, so she stayed in side and was spoiled by everyone who wasn’t playing or those who were taking a break.
All of my nieces love babies, but one niece in particular I’m pretty sure didn’t leave Chayse’s side. She would talk to her, help her bounce in the chair, show her toys, etc. It was so cute!
And then Chayse took her first of many naps that day! She was pretty worn out from all the attention she was getting! Here in Pennsylvania she’s mainly surrounded by just our little family, so she wasn’t quite sure what to do with so many people. 🙂
