i was checking the site i work for (freebies2deals) this afternoon and saw a deal posted about huggies diapers and wipes at smith’s grocery store in utah. so i gathered together my coupons and headed to our local kroger chain (king soopers) to see if i could score the same deal. we can always use more pull ups/diapers and wipes around here.

purchase 2 huggies packs of slip-on diapers at $9.39 each
purchase 1 pack of huggies 72 count wipes at $1.99

plus, use a $0.50 off of one huggies wipes coupon from the 10-23-11 SS coupon insert
you will pay $14.27 but you will get $8 in catalina’s back good towards another purchase (think of a catalina as a cash you get to spend at that store on another transaction)
total cost $6.27 for all three items!
well, it just so happens that our region here in colorado received a coupon for $0.75 off huggies wipes, and our kroger chain doubles coupons up to $1.00. so i was able to do the same deal, but get an extra $0.50 off.
so my total for all three items ended up being only $5.77 or $1.92 per item! that’s right. you read that right. i purchased two packs of diapers (46 slip-on diapers total, my new favorite diaper right now) + a pack of 72 count huggies wipes for only $5.77!
um…wow! that my friends is why i coupon & probably always will. why pay $20.77 for two packs of diapers and a pack of wipes, when you can only pay $5.77? that’s a savings of $15.00!!! i don’t know about all of you, but i can definitely think of A LOT of things i’d rather spend $15.00 on.
of course, i did have to buy the newspapers, so let’s be real and say it was a only a savings of $13.00-$14.00, if you take what i paid for the newspapers and divide it out among all the coupons i use from those papers.
…still so totally worth it!!! especially since i was able to score this deal at king soopers & didn’t have to deal with walmart or drive all the way to costco! that in and of itself is a big perk in my book! 😉

ps. to give you an idea of the overall savings, i paid only $0.08 a diaper purchasing my diapers with this deal, whereas if you purchase your diapers at costco you pay anywhere from $0.15-$0.25 a diaper! see, buying at costco and walmart is not always the cheapest option. do not be fooled! 😉
pss. oh and i forgot to mention, i can now also submit for a $10 kimberly & clark rebate and get $10 back because i did this deal and bought the Cars 2 movie on blu-ray a few days ago. after a couple coupons, rebates and deals like this i’ll end up only paying about $5.00 for the Cars 2 Blu-ray 5 Disc Combo pack! again, yet another reason to coupon! I’m telling you, so worth it! 🙂
