i just have to type up this little experience before i forget all about it…
you all know by now that i’m kind of a fan of the whole “coupon” thing. so each week before i head to the store i cut out what i’ll need for the different stores and plan my shopping trips.
the other day i was doing all my planning and organizing and titan took one of my ads and wandered off with it. a little bit later he was asking me for the scissors, to which i said “no sir. 2 year olds don’t get scissors.” he wasn’t very happy about this answer but wandered off again and seemed somewhat content.
fast forward a few hours later…we are at the the store walking up and down the isles and titan is telling me to go look at the popsicles. in an attempt to avoid a meltdown i simply explain to him that we are ONLY buying things we have pictures for ie. what we have coupons for. in the past this answer has pacified him and he has then helped me hunt down and match the coupons to the items. a game we play to keep him interested.
well…next thing i know he is demanding i stop the grocery cart while he attempts to stand up (he was sitting in the back). upon standing he stabilizes himself and reaches his little hand in his pocket on his plaid shorts (i didn’t even know he knew what pockets are yet, or that he can put things in them) and out comes a crinkled piece of, oh so carefully torn by a 2 year old hand, paper with nothing other than a a box of popsicles on it!
he thrusts the picture at me and says “i brought a picture. see. here’s da picture. popsicles pwease!”.
um. really? i am still laughing now a few days later, i cannot even believe his little master plan. oh, my little man! sometimes it scares me how smart and detailed he is! he knows what’s going on & doesn’t miss a thing. needless to say, we came home with popsicles and lucky charms!
…yes don’t you worry he had a picture of lucky charms in his other pocket! guess it’s time for a new game plan!
Funniest story I have heard all year! Seriously. Still laughing my head off. Love that little guy! So glad we get to see him again in October. What a smartie!
I laughed so hard! That is awesome!!!
