for mother’s day broc got me a creme brulee torch! hip hip hooray!
now… some people may not get excited over something you use when cooking… but this is no blender or vacuum people…it’s a torch!  i have wanted one of these for a few years now but could never justify the money for something that has such a specific use.
the story is, i fell in love with creme brulee on our honeymoon when it was served on the cruise ship for dessert, yum yum! (i honestly can’t believe that it took 21 years for me to try this dessert). ever since it is one of my most favorite desserts. the only problem was that it’s just not the same without the sugary shell on top…which you need the torch for! (i tried broiling in the oven and it wasn’t the same, i know i’m pretty picky! things have to be just so in order for me to be pleased).
any way, one bite and i was hooked. literally. love it! crave it! am now so excited i can make my own!
for this first attempt i actually used a box mix & it turned out pretty good. next time, i plan on making it from scratch. in fact, i have a few recipes i plan on trying. once i have a favorite, i’ll post it for you all on here!
finishing off the edges on one of the ramekins.
ps. the super brown one was broc’s. just saying. 🙂
the finished product! seriously so excited about this torch! i can’t even tell you!
well, thank you for sharing in my excitement. hope you are having a great night too! i’m off to catch up on house on hulu!

Creme Brulee is delicious! My absolute favorite is banana chocolate creme brulee. Chocolate ganache is swirled into the bottom of the dessert and sliced banana is put on top with the sugar to carmelize. SO GOOD!!!! You are one lucky girl!
