the valentine bug

hi blog friends! are any of you still around? i realize i have been a little “mia” the past few weeks. i’m hoping after this weekend to be back in the swing of things again though. of course, we shall see. i love blogging but it certainly is not a numero one priority in my life so there are times it does have to take to the back burner. what i love about blogging though is, that i can do it on my own schedule, in my own way, in my own time. 🙂

my little family has actually been recovering from the flu the past few days. the little man was down with it on monday night and then wednesday night it hit both broc and i. which means i haven’t been doing a whole lot of anything since monday. i believe i even said once to broc in the midst of it all, that this strain of flu (or whatever the heck it was) was worse than childbirth. yes, it was that awful, the flu i mean!

any how… am so glad we are over with it and just in time to start enjoying valentine’s weekend. yep, that’s right. valentine’s weekend. broc and i kicked things off last night with dinner at the olive garden and then a showing of “just go with it” & what he and the little man don’t know is that i have mini surprises for them all weekend long! i’m not normally a huge valentine’s day “person” but this year i’ve caught the bug! xoxo.

as i’ve been browsing valentine’s day ideas, gifts and themes here are some of my favorite things that have caught my attention:

first, this song:

fourth, this souffle idea from giverslog. one word, scrumptious! am thinking of making these monday night! will let you know if i do!

and last but not least this peppermint pie that is perfectly pink and looks oh so delicious as well!

what are all your plans for v-day? have you all caught the bug yet?
