Disneyland 2012

Trost Family with Mickey – Disneyland 2012

Hooray! I finally have a minute to do some catching up. First and foremost on my “Must Document” list is our recent trip to Disneyland!

A few months ago my brother mentioned that his family & my dad were headed to Disneyland in May. At the time I joked that we might tag along, but didn’t think too seriously about it. Then, on a random whim I suggested the trip to Broc and as we got looking at it, just for fun, we realized we probably could actually go.

Then, long story short, one thing led to another and suddenly my entire family was going! That’s right both my parents and all 4 of my siblings and their families ended up being able to come on the trip as well. Total we had 17 family members on this trip. My how my family has grown! I grew up in a family of 7, my parents and then 5 of us kids & now all but one of the siblings is married and three of us have kids of our own. That means on this trip we ended up having 11 adults and 6 kids under the age of 5!

Normally, a trip with that many kids to Disneyland would make me want to RUN in the opposite direction of California (I’m more of a lounge by the side of the pool or travel somewhere exotic with a child center type of traveler) but we have a secret weapon in our family and his name is Aaron!

My older brother is a pure Disney Master Mind/Genius and I literally bow down to him when it comes to anything Disney, especially after this last trip. He is the only person I would EVER trust to plan a Disney trip. Hands down. No questions asked. You want me on a Disney trip, you had better plan on purchasing his ticket as well & I’m really not even joking.

Because of all of his hard work and planning, we were able to make it through both Disney parks in 3 days and some things we were even able to do twice. I was literally amazed at how seamlessly & quickly we moved through the park (especially with so many kids in tow) and I can honestly say we hardly waited in any lines. I’m telling you, pure planning genius.

Overall it was a really fun trip and it was so much fun to see how excited Titan got over everything. Disney is definitely a whole new experience when you are witnessing it through your little one’s eyes. Everything seems just seems a little more magical & fun!

I am so glad that my whole family was able to go on this trip and spend time together. We grew up going to Disneyland almost on a yearly basis and it is so fun to continue the tradition with Titan. We realized on this trip that Titan is 3 1/2 and already he’s been to Disneyland twice and Disney World once. There really is just no escaping Disney in this family. 🙂

Now onto the rest of the pictures…

Titan & Broc in front of the new LEGO store! It is incredible what they can do with LEGO’s!

Titan building a tower with his Grandpa Scott

Dinner at Paradise Pier Hotel – We at at the PCH Grill and I would definitely eat there again! Very yummy food and pretty reasonably priced for a Disney restaurant.

Titan attempting to fit his meatball sandwich is his little mouth!

We were each assigned a “Secret Family Member” on the trip and my person surprised me with this HUGE diet coke.

DISNEYLAND!!!

It’s Trost family tradition to wear an eye patch on Pirates

My crazy little man! He was so much fun on this trip!

Titan about to go on Thunder Mountain Railroad for the first time EVER!

…and now he’s not so sure! Don’t worry, he ended up really liking it!

Grandma Cindy, Broc & Titan with Mickey

Titan & Mickey! Ti was so excited to show Mickey that he was dressed like him! 🙂

Time for some ice cream. Pretty sure I ate one of these Mickey Ice Cream bars every day of the trip! They are seriously addicting!

Watching the Parade! Titan had two requests on this trip…Go on Buzz Lightyear and see a Parade! Check…

…and check!

Waiting for the rope to drop so we could begin our day at Disney!

Agent P – enough said!

Waiting for our Cheese Dogs from Corn Dog Palace! So so yummy! This place is in California Adventure and we love their cheese dogs!

Ti Guy and Goofy!

Waiting for World of Color to start in California Adventure

Our “Master Planner” in training. Titan kept telling Uncle Aaron that he was in charge. In fact, Uncle Aaron shared quite a bit of Disney knowledge with Titan that he is still reminding of us. Ti Guy has already got our entire next trip to Disneyland all planned out, per Aaron’s instruction. LOL

Titan & Pluto

Titan’s first ever ride on Splash Mountain. He will tell you that he loved it…except for the big waterfall.

Titan with Tigger at our character creakfast. We did Minnie’s Breakfast at the Plaza and had so much fun! I definitely recommend doing at least one character breakfast on your trip so that you get some quality time on with characters without having to chase them down.

Titan and Minnie

Character Breakfasts really are the way to go! Plus, they had unlimited Diet Coke! 😉

Titan with Winnie the Pooh

Titan going on the Autopia ride with Unkie Conner!

We did went to a drawing class in California Adventure where they taught everyone how to draw Phineas & Ferb. Titan was in HEAVEN!

The finished product! 🙂
…and that’s the end! Titan is already talking about our next trip that he thinks we are taking in September to visit the new Cars Land in California Adventure.
While I know we won’t be going again in September, I have no doubt we’ll be going again in the next few years!
Hooray for fun family memories made at Disneyland!!!

Cambria, What a great trip and great memories you were able to make with your family. Thanks for sharing all the pictures. I think I'd like to take all my family on a trip like this one day. Do you have any recommendations on the best way to plan this?

Hey Katrina, the best person to talk to would actually probably be my brother Aaron. He did the majority of the planning for our trip. If you have any specific ?'s though you can definitely message me on FB with them or email me and I'll help with what I can. 🙂

Hi! My name is Raquel and I actually stumbled on your blog through Megan Monson's blog. We're going on a trip to Disneyland in October with a bunch of little ones and your post made me a little less afraid of the upcoming vacation. Would you be willing to share or get your brother to share a rough itinerary of your Disney adventure for me to use on our trip? It would be so, so helpful.
