while i was in utah i went to lunch with my sister and mom at a placed called the blue lemon. to give you an idea of what kind of restaurant the blue lemon is, here is an excerpt from their about page:
“Blue Lemon lives up to their motto – pure clean food, with a twist. Their menu is full of delicious, guilt-free options, including plenty of selections for vegetarians and those with health issues. Head Chef Todd Leonard skillfully leads the team in its mission to feature foods that optimize the body in a healthy way, without sacrificing taste. This means that Blue Lemon’s food is made purely from natural (mostly local) ingredients and is never fried or microwaved. Refreshing ambiance and an irresitable menu provides all with an energizing and satisfying dining experience.”
let me just say, they totally lived up to that description. from the second we walked in, i knew i had found a new favorite restaurant. i think we all had a hard time deciding what we wanted to try the most. in the end, this is what we selected:
$5, plus it came with a drink!
my mom and sister both ordered the lemon grilled chicken B. L.T
$8
and then we all shared the appetizers…
$4 (or $2 w/ an entree)
and the spinach and pear salad
$5 (or $2 w/ an entree)
and of course when i saw that they had peppermint hot chocolate…i just had to get one.
my mom and i both ended up ordering a hot cocoa and they were ah-mazing. plus we learned they can make all sorts of different flavors! i was in love right then and there!
$3.00 to $3.50
the best part was my mom had purchased a $30 gift card to the blue lemon for only $15 through city deals a while back and so we figured each of our meals only ended up being around $5.50. not too shabby! especially since we all left very very full!
i loved how clean and inviting the restaurant was. i loved how the food was presented and the portion sizes. i loved that i was eating local, natural & healthy food. i loved the prices (without or without the city deal!). i loved it all. if you are ever in the area, you definitely need to stop by. in fact, if you are ever within an hours drive, you need to stop by and check it out, it is so totally worth the drive! i’ll for sure be going back when we go to utah again this summer! i was actually thinking today that if there was one here i’d be suggesting a girls night just to go get the hot chocolate, oh and one of the cookies and cream brownies that looks oh so tempting, but i decided to forgo and am now regretting! this place is the perfect setting for a girls get together of any kind.
so stop on by. you’ll love it!
ps. i am not being paid for this at all, i just loved this place so much i couldn’t resist sharing. oh, and i hear they have a mac n’ cheese that is to die for, so it’s a totally kid friendly place as well! plus, they serve coke, for those of you who like me choose your restaurant based on whether or not they serve pepsi or coke. see, i told you this place was fabulous! enjoy! 🙂
p.s.s one last great thing, take a look at the actual food we were delivered and then take a look at the photo’s on their website, other than camera quality (meaning i have a very basic camera), not much of a difference. how many times do you see a photo of a places food and then are served something entirely different looking? that was so not the case with this restaurant. what you see, is what you get! simply ah-mazing! i’m telling you, you have to give it a try. ok, i’m really done now! lol
This post almost killed my diet.
Almost. :)
Looks delish!
