happy fall!
it is september 1st and oh how i love this time of year! autumn is by far my favorite season. i have always been a HUGE fan of autumn and all it’s fabulousness. yes, summer is ending, but september has always signaled a new beginning for me. forget new years resolutions, i almost always make my goal list in september! probably because when i was younger this time of year was always equated with a new school year. new teachers, new color coded folders all neatly labeled, new syllabuses, new classes, new classmates – it was always a fresh start that i very much looked forward to. truthfully, even this year, although i am not in school, is a fresh start. a new town to explore. a new home to get used to. a new routine to fall into. i even have a new folders all neatly labeled in anticipation of this month (will share more about those folders later though!). i guess old habits die hard!
plus there is just something about fall. its crisp weather. the leaves changing colors. pumpkins proudly on display. bundling up for football games (mind you games i know nothing about, but are still fun none the less!). sweaters, hoodies and scarves coming out from storage. hot chocolate and donuts. boots rather than flip flops. hayrides. petting zoo’s. caramel apples. yes, i do indeed love fall. just yesterday i walked out to my car and could smell fall in the air – it definitely gave me a surge of energy and excitement.
truthfully if i had to pick a favorite month of the year it would be october when fall is in it’s prime. although september is a close second because it ushers in october and all it’s festivities, it gives a hint of what is to come. september is the month i get ready & organized for the busy months ahead. i stop dreaming of days at the pool and start dreaming in pumpkins & witches. just yesterday i spent an hour reading an article from the denver post written in 2009 about the top ten pumpkin patches to visit in colorado! going to a local pumpkin patch is at the very top of my list for this years festivities! my heart was racing as i got lost in one website after another with grand pictures of perfectly plump pumpkins just waiting to be taken home, along side pictures of petting zoo’s & hayrides. i absolutely cannot wait!
yes, fall is here! hooray!
