am not such a fan of baseball, but am definitely a fan of date night and socializing with new friends. in all truth i do actually really enjoy the atmosphere at baseball games – the lights, the music, the food, being outside etc. i just don’t really care what someone’s batting average is?! it is definitely a social thing for me.
when we first moved here i was worried about making friends or having things to do but already in the first two weeks there have been pool invites, thursdays at the park, and an invitation to go to a rockies game with three other couples in the neighborhood. thanks brooke, jody & veronica! 🙂
we weren’t able to go to the pool as i couldn’t find the bin that had our swimsuits and it was raining, but i really enjoyed meeting up with some mom’s at the park last thursday (the parks here are incredible by the way!) and going to the rockies game.
of course as luck would have it we went to the game friday night when they played the cubs and if any of you watched the game – it was a pretty average game until the bottom of the 8th when suddenly the rockies score jumped from 5 to like 17. guess when we left? literally a minute or two before all the scoring began. like seriously? we never could have guessed what was about to happen though so all well. the game was still really fun and we’ve enjoyed getting to know people in the neighborhood. plus the weather turned out to be practically perfect, and my in-laws kept the mini man at home so we were actually able to join in on conversations and even watch the game. all in all, it was a great night out.
