we are home! am happy to be home even though home right now is still being unpacked & organized. it just feels nice to be sleeping in my own bed, surrounded by (mostly) my own things, with my small family all together. yes, husband is busy with school, but it’s nice to be in the same zip code again and sitting at the same dinner table. plus, broc surprised me when i got home with flowers, a clean car, and the laundry all done! heaven!
don’t get me wrong the trip was fun, but it was also a whirlwind of events & absolute craziness from start to finish – it was definitely not a relaxing vacation. actually, it proved to be quite the opposite of relaxing for a few different reasons. one main reason being the little man and i were supposed to be flying back home early on saturday but then we found out the little man had a double ear infection, so flying was out. poor dude was sick all during the wedding, but was a trooper still the same! even sick, he’s still a rock star toddler!
instead of flying, we got to drive home with my in-laws on sunday. must admit, the drive is so much better when you’re not the one driving and the little man was an angel, so i can’t complain. after doing the drive again, i’m not as opposed to the drive as i was after driving it alone in the car three weeks ago. the drive out all alone was brutal!
overall, “there’s no place like home!”.
