A couple years ago we took Titan to see a Disney on Ice show in Denver and every few months since he has been asking to go to another one.
I finally got my act together and looked online to see when their next show was this last time he asked. I lucked out and found out that one was coming here to Colorado Spring at the beginning of April. After discussing it with Broc, we decided to surprise Titan with a mini date night out with me to see Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic at the World Arena.
I had planned on telling him about it a couple days before the show, but life got crazy with Spring Break and I actually totally forgot all about it until the night before. It was definitely a lot of fun telling him where he got to go the next night!
Here are some pictures from our mini “date night”:

I had no idea how large or small the World Arena was and so I had no clue if we had decent seats or not. Come to find out, our seats were actually pretty great! 🙂

It’s a small world!

The little man was a little somber during the first half because it was mostly princesses… (I did catch him singing along a time or two though – and he did enjoy all the parts with Mickey!)

We grabbed some cotton candy and a Mickey Crown at intermission though and he perked right up! He asked for cotton candy and I had no idea it came with a crown as well. Of course, for $12.00…I would hope it would come with more than just the cotton candy! 😉

Ti checking out the Zamboni as it cleared the ice during intermission. He was fascinated by it.
We also enjoyed splitting a sprite and jumbo pretzel. This momma was needing some food and luckily my little date and I have very similar tastes in food. 🙂

After intermission, things picked up and it was a little more Titan’s style. We both really liked the Mulan section!

…and some fireworks are always fun too!
Overall it was such a fun night and I’m so glad we surprised Titan with the night out. We are really trying lately to focus our spending on memories and not things. 🙂 Titan is already asking when we get to go again, so I guess this was a good memory!

Now to prep for our Disney World trip coming up in 4 1/2 weeks…

Our Favorite Easter Books For 2014

This is the place where they meet and socialize; discussing each of online viagra deeprootsmag.org their struggles with regards to the fact that they are free from the potential side effects that might occur with existing medication. Ultimately, it’s about shutting people up, stopping them from justly criticising anything browse around address viagra uk and accusing them should they speak…

While I was in Utah over Spring Break my mom and I made a stop at Seagull Book and I couldn’t help but pick up a few new books to add to our Easter Book Collection. I always try to buy a couple new holiday themed books each holiday in order to slowly build up our home library. I am a big believer in having a home filled with LOTS of books!

One of my favorite things about shopping at Seagull Book is their awesome prices! I was able to get all four books for less than $15.00!
We have added these all into our reading rotation the past couple weeks and Titan has enjoyed all of them. I will admit the the My First Story of the First Easter is a little more serious and not the first one Titan reaches for, but I feel it is important that he learns the real reason behind Easter and that it’s not just all about eggs, candy and a white bunny. 🙂 So, we’ve been reading that one on Sunday’s during quiet time in the afternoons or before bed.

As far as the other books are concerned, Titan really liked that the Curious George book came with a set of stickers that he can use to create his own picture and story with.
…and I liked that it was a cute story with some educational value to it. I feel like that book was definitely well worth the $2.99 I paid for it! 🙂

Another fun one has definitely been Easter Egg Hunt because of the pop outs. Of course, after the first time we read it Titan said: “Mom, this book is kind of silly because it’s only fun the first time. After that, you know where the pop outs are.” – Funny though, that hasn’t stopped him from wanting to read it again each and every night since. 🙂

We also have like the Clifford book, I mean you can’t go wrong with a classic like Clifford, but it doesn’t have any extra’s beyond the story – so I don’t think it’s been AS exciting for Titan. Still happy I grabbed it though.

Overall I would say my trip was a success! Love when I can find some good deals on books!

I LOVE having fresh flowers in my home. What I do not love though is often how expensive it can be! Even at Costco where prices are awesome, you still can end up spending at least $15-$20 for an arrangement that will only last maybe a week.

Enter my all time favorite flower, the orchid! I have loved orchids for a long time now and when our budget is tight, I fall even more in love with them. The reason being, they last a long time! (And, they require very little maintenance!) Some will even last for a few months.

For example, the orchid pictured above I purchased back on January 6th for less than $20 and I just barely had to replace it at the beginning of this month. That’s right, I enjoyed it in our room for three solid months. Talk about a great deal!

So, the next time you want fresh flowers in your home, but want to keep it budget friendly, I highly suggest you go with an orchid…or two…or three! 😉 I always pick them up at our local King Soopers or you can sometimes also find them at Costco. In fact, Costco is my favorite place to get them because you can find them for as cheap as $12.99! That’s when you might pass me grabbing one of them for every room in my house! 🙂
