then end of february though the acceptance did indeed come! he was told he had received the scholarship and would be commissioning by the middle of march.
due to a lot of different circumstances i have been running around like a crazy person lately and did not know for sure until late sunday night that he was going to be commissioned yesterday, Monday the 8th.
so after an insane weekend and hardly any time to actually contemplate on my part what this means for our family, our little family went yesterday morning to the air force offices and broc was commissioned an officer in the air force!
looking back now, the timing was truly perfect. i already had the day off and it came after an incredible weekend and at a time where i can say i have no doubt about broc being in the military as a doctor and about our family being a “military family”.
i am proud to have a husband who sees and believes in something bigger than himself. who values service above profit and who has accomplished great things in his life. he is an eagle scout, he served a two year mission for our church, he is a graduate of the marriott business school at byu (one of the top business schools in the country), he has been accepted into medical school in colorado, and now he is an officer in the air force having committed himself to serving our country and the soldiers who risk their lives daily to protect our freedom and our country. he is truly up to great things! i can’t wait to see where our life in the military takes us!
*ps, at this point (the commissioning) i am running off of about 3 hours a night of sleep for three nights straight and the most emotionally exhausting and brain draining weekend of my life – so just focus on how adorable my husband and son are in the pictures and ignore me!
