i’ve had a few days now to try on being twenty five. i rather like it except for some reason this birthday snuck up on me rather quickly this year. i still say it should only be february. i’ve had a little trepidation about turning 25. not because it seemed old to me. rather because it seems like a chapter is closing. i feel like turning 25 marked the end of the first act or chapter of my life depending on whether i want to live in a book or on a stage. i keep thinking about the next twenty five years and what i want them to be filled with. spoiler alert: some posts regarding this coming soon!

twenty five. i’m twenty five. for the first time in a long time i finally feel like i own my age. my view of myself has been stuck at like 18 or 19 for the last 7 years, but over the last few months i feel like i’ve come into my own. i’ve earned my twenty five years. everything in my life, all the loose ends, all the insecurities, all the worries, all the should’ves have been tied up quite nicely and just in time for this milestone birthday.
now for the pictures. happy viewing!
the saturday before my birthday broc took me to the corner bakery! it was his first time ever going.
my happy little man!
my boys!
my busy little man. no time to pose for pictures. must. keep. playing.
the birthday cake broc made me! it was incredibly yummy!
a huge part of my birthday present from broc was the cruise & he bought me this necklace on the cruise. it matches a bracelet he gave me on our honeymoon. the first cruise we ever took together.
broc out did himself this year because this is what i got from him on the actual day of my birthday (i thought the cruise and necklace were it): a book i can’t wait to dive into (i have loved mary higgins clark books since i was twelve and this is her newest one that came out in april) and a dinner at carver’s steakhouse! including a dessert of creme brulee & a babysitter for the little man, whom i love, but carver’s isn’t really his scene!
i also received a to die for yummy smelling candle from my visiting teachers, a mimi’s gift card from my dad, money from my in-laws and broc’s grandparents to put towards my running wish list, and a dinner and movie night with my mom. can’t wait to go see a good chick flick with her! i was definitely spoiled this year!
this was on the card broc gave me. am a fan of the quote. contemplating framing it.
we first went to carver’s for a birthday celebration broc’s grandma planned for his grandpa about two years ago. one time and we were hooked. i love their filet mignon, the bruschetta, and the creme brulee. all of their food is insanely good! it melts in your mouth. literally. it was a definite treat to go eat there for my birthday! i just have to say “thank you! thank you!” to broc one more time!
enjoying the creme brulee!
spending time with the little man.
the wednesday after my birthday my family all got together for dinner and guess where we went? the corner bakery! i had to introduce them all too it! i could eat there seven days a week so i was so glad i got to go again! above are kodak moments of the little man with two of his cousins – kyrie and ally.
i have the best husband, son, and family! thank you everyone for a fabulous birthday!
Chick Flick suggestion with your mom: Letters to Juliet! I promise you'll love it.
Meg- I am so glad to hear that! I've seen previews for that movie and it has been on my "must see" list but of course then I'm always worried it won't live up to the preview? Now that it has the thumbs up from you I am super excited to see it!
