what is boggling my mind even more, is that in eight days broc leaves for officer training! eight days! i still thought i had at least two weeks to get ready for his departure. who was i kidding?then he is gone for an entire month! for a month it will be the little man and i left to our own devices. have been making a list of the things i want us to do before we move. excursions included the dinosaur museum, discovery gateway, the aquarium, and lots and lots of pool time at the gym. am so thrilled for the outdoor pool to open on memorial day. that is my sign that summer is here! time to pull out the shorts, flip flops, and sunscreen.
my days currently are busy with the little man, work, beginning to pack and organize for our move, attempting to get ready for a 5k, enjoying the bike, planning a bridal shower, and the flowers for the actual wedding, etc. etc. phew. this summer is going to be gone before i know it, i can already tell. it’s all a good busy though. a fun busy. an exciting busy.
just today i spent a few hours shopping for all things wedding. had a fabulous time at robert’s, michaels, and hobby lobby. broc kept the little man with him at home so i could think more clearly and be more focused on the task at hand while i shopped. i tell you, shopping with a toddler should be considered and olympic event.
i was in heaven today being able to stretch my creative muscles again. planning, color scheming, & dreaming (without distraction). it really truly is an adrenaline rush for me. from start to finish i love the whole design process whether i am designing a room or a floral arrangement. la la love it! can’t get enough. who needs drugs to get a high – just give me a store like hobby lobby.
speaking of hobby lobby. um. where has it been all my life? today was my first excursion into one and it’s ah mazing! they just opened one nearby and so i decided to venture over for their grand opening sales. i didn’t want to leave, they are definitely a new fave. their selection is out of this world and their customer service was phenomenal. let’s just say i had 12, two foot tall, glass vases that all needed to be wrapped and prepared for the drive home, and the cashier didn’t even blink an eye. she just got creative, got to it, and wrapped them like a mad woman. it was above and beyond customer service. literally. i just hope they keep it up longer than the week of the grand opening. you know the honeymoon phase where everything is shiny and new. i’ll be curious to see if the employees are all so chipper in a month or two? i’m betting that they are. hopefully!
well, i’m off to do my neglected laundry, cleaning, and menu planning. will also be fitting in a bike ride with the husband this evening. overall it’s been a good day! hope yours has been equally as good.

Shopping with a toddler is DEFINITELY an olympic event! I think adding each additional child adds a degree of difficulty.
