it is a happy day around here! the weather has shifted (even if just momentarily) and we are having sunny 60 degree weather! heaven! of course, in the short time we lived here i’ve already come to understand that in colorado you can have 60 degree weather one day and -2 degree weather the next. so i will soak up as much of this sunshine as i can!!! i’m already dreaming of diet cokes poolside though….! oh summer! 🙂
speaking of diet coke, i had to laugh when i was going through my “daily” blog list this morning and came across this:

happy dance? you bet! rejoicing? for sure! i knew paying attention to coupons would pay off eventually! in all seriousness though, that is one coupon that will for sure be getting used in this household, much to my husband’s disappointment. i simply point out to him though that if drinking diet coke is the worst thing i’m doing to my body…i think i’m doing pretty good! 😉 i probably should stop letting the two year old drink it though…
(ps.you know your addicted to diet coke when your a few steps ahead of your husband and son in costco and your son yells “mom, stop! coke!” as you walk past the soda cans! lol)

in other news, i somewhat learned how to cut a boy’s haircut last night! i say somewhat because i went to a “how to” to get the low down on just how to do it, but really i learn best by doing & i’ll actually be cutting titan’s and broc’s hair this weekend so that’s when i’ll really be learning! yep, i somewhat learned the in’s and out’s last night. wish me luck this weekend! i’ve always said i would NEVER cut broc or titan’s hair but that was mostly just because i had no idea where to begin. now that i have some knowledge and instruction under my belt though, i figure i can give it a try once. i mean, hair grows back, right? if i fail miserably, lesson learned – i won’t do it again.
…but if… if i succeed (or see that with practice it can be successful!) i’m seeing just how much it will save our little family. i figure if we keep going at the rate we are going we’d be paying $200-$275 a year just for them to go get their haircut. like really? i’d so much rather put that toward a cruise!!!
well i’m off to enjoy the sunshine and do some laundry! i hope you are all having a great wednesday!
ps. if you cut your husbands/kids hair feel free to leave any tips in the comments!!!
My only tip would be to make sure you check the comb # you put on the razor before you cut their hair if you know what length to do each of the layers. Just ask Aaron about the reverse mohawk I gave him the day before our wedding… :o)
Of course Tara will say that I was on no-sleep mode or something…..but hey….. if they move while you're cutting, they get what they get. 😀
Thanks guys! I love it Mom! I do recall some interesting bangs Tara got! 🙂
I am certain I didn't move. I recall her getting distracted because someone asked her a question in the hallway. This resulted in a short diagonal cut which she tried to fix which resulted in teeny tiny african american curls instead of bangs.
