Another “must do” item on our schedule was to visit Gardner Village! Gardner Village is BY FAR my most favorite place on the planet during the Halloween season. I love the witches, the decor, the lighting, the yummy food, the fun shops and just everything about the place!

The fun decor and all the outlandish witches they have! Titan and his cousins had a lot of fun looking for the different ones.

The candy shop. We always have to stop in to try out their fudge! So yummy!

Titan and his cousin Lily.
Not sure what Titan’s pose is…some days you just get what you get! πŸ˜‰

I found these wall tiles and was seriously tempted by both of them…then I remembered I don’t have $200.00 to spend on wall decor right at this moment! πŸ˜‰

Confession time, I LOVE quotes and words. One day I want a whole wall of quotes in frames or on signs in my home. Since I don’t yet have the space for that, I settled for taking pictures of the quotes/sayings I liked instead. That way when I get around to creating the wall, I can reference these.

There are also so many good ones at Gardner Village!

Last couple, I promise! πŸ™‚

After shopping we stopped in the Naborhood Bakery for some hot chocolate and cheesy bread. A tradition for our family!

And of course, Titan talked us into one of their pumpkin sugar cookies!

Which apparently he gave a big “thumbs up”.

What is one of your favorite Halloween traditions?
(If you live in Utah and haven’t been to Gardner Village in a while, I highly recommend you put it on your calendar for next October!)

After my mom came for a visit in October we actually came back to with her to spend two weeks in Utah. Originally it was just supposed to be myself and Titan coming back for those last two weeks in October, but with the Government Shutdown, Broc ended up being home and able to come with us as well! October is by far my favorite month in Utah because of all the fun fall activities there are.

Up first on our schedule was a visit to Wheeler Farm. I hadn’t been to Wheeler Farm in at least 10 years, but I thought it could be a fun and educational experience for Titan so we made sure to fit it in.

When we first got to Wheeler Farm we decided to get tokens for the wagon ride and buy some bird seed to feed the ducks/geese/etc. If you want the ULTIMATE Duck Feeding Experience, visit Wheeler Farm. Holy Cow! There were so many ducks, pigeons, geese, etc. and they literally surround you trying to get the food. I may or may not have gotten startled a time or two as all the birds started flocking around us and even taking off into flight. It really was quite the experience and all for only $0.50! πŸ™‚

Notice Ti has his legs folded up under him. He was afraid if he put them down he would step on one or a few of the birds!

As we ran out food and walked away, all the birds followed us. It was quite a sight.

After feeding the birds we decided to check out some of the animals. This new calf that was just born a couple weeks earlier. She had such pretty coloring!

Checking out the Turkeys. Ti wasn’t so sure about the fact that we’d be eating a turkey just like them in a few weeks for dinner.

No, I didn’t let Titan pet the horse due to signs saying they might take off a finger, but he sure wanted to!

Waiting for the wagon ride.

Some of our views on the ride. Utah really is SO pretty this time of year!

…and a quick shot with mom to prove I was there! πŸ˜‰

Still playing catch up! I realize it’s almost Christmas but I still have so much to document from the rest of my mom’s vacation with us to Titan’s birthday and even Thanksgiving. For those of you who are sticking around and still reading, thank you! I promise by the end of December I’ll actually be posting about things that happen in December!! πŸ™‚

Any way, onto this post…

While my mom was with us in October we decided to venture out to the Garden of the Gods for some exercise and to take in the gorgeous scenery.

The view from the scenic overlook.

While we were there this time we decided to watch the short video presentation that they offer about how the red rocks developed here in Colorado Springs and how they became known as the Garden of the Gods. The movie was $5 per adult and kids under 5 were FREE! (I’ll admit, the fact that Titan was turning 5 in a few weeks may or may not have prompted me to want to see it during this visit vs. in the future. May as well get the free ticket, right?) πŸ˜‰
The video was actually pretty entertaining and we all walked away learning something. For example, I had no idea that Katharine Lee Bates wrote America the Beautiful while sitting at the top of Pikes Peak looking down at the Colorado Springs valley. And, Titan liked learning about the new species of dinosaur, Theiphytalia Kerri, that was discovered in the Garden of the Gods.

The Kissing Camels. This is Titan’s favorite rock formation and he likes to look for it every time we go. He was a great little tour guide this time around.

Horrible lighting, I know. But that smile! Love this little man!

My boys posing for a picture for Grandma. Gotta love the little man’s pose! LOL
Speaking of poses…not quite sure where the idea for this one came from! πŸ™‚

Our view as we walked back to the Visitors Center.

After our hiking we decided to eat lunch at the Cafe at the Garden. Titan was VERY happy with the Fanta drink he talked Grandma into getting for him. A bottle just makes the drink that much more fun and tasty, right? At the Cafe the food was just ok, but really, it was the view that is what makes eating there worth it.
I mean, it doesn’t get any more picturesque than that! (And we couldn’t have asked for better weather!)
