In February…
We watched the Super Bowl at Broc’s parents.

Well, Broc and I watched it. Titan spent most of the time playing games online.

I attempted to get more greens in my diet by doing a green smoothie…
(Apparently I’ll need to try this again next month as it didn’t sit well on my stomach at all!)

… and Ti is rocking some new aviator shades! (Can you tell we are ready for pool weather to be back?!)

We were introduced to Butterscotch Root Beer by some good friends and had to run out and by it for ourselves the very next day! (Thank you Costco!)

And, we took Titan to a Lowe’s Build and Grow event where he got to make a Heart Note Holder.
Titan is loving going to these events each month and earning the different badges for his apron!

YAY! Project complete!

Ti had fun decorating his window for Valentine’s! (I have to admit, these are the only decorations we put up…I still wasn’t feeling the best (good ol’ morning sickness) and so the decor was very sparce…)

We went to Red Robin to celebrate Broc getting his Match Results.
Broc interviewed really last minute at a hospital in PA (like he interviewed the day before the results were due) and the interview went really well.  They told Broc if he put them as his first place, he would match there and that they were opening a spot just for him. So we kind of already knew that’s where we were going, but it was still VERY nice to see it “official”.

We did some art projects.

And we had a date night the Saturday after Valentine’s where we tried out Salsa Brava and Titan went to Parent’s Night Out at Lifetime. (Broc and I also rented and watched Paranoia that night as well. We love a good movie night at home!)

I loved their chicken enchilada’s at Salsa Brava

…and of course after we picked Titan up we just HAD to stop at Rizuto’s for ice cream! Titan says it’s “tradition” after our date nights. 🙂 Luckily their ice cream is so cheap (and so yummy) that we don’t mind going at all!

We met some of Broc’s family at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
Titan LOVED the porcupine.

…and the peacock!

It was also really fun to see the gorillas

…and feed the giraffes!

The giraffe’s seriously never get old!

Oh, and you can’t forget the pony ride! Another “must see and do” for Titan.

Followed up by some time at the kids place where Titan ran around, climbed and went down the slide to his heart’s content.

We enjoyed some more Cold Stone thanks to gift card we were given!
(As you can see, I’ve converted Broc and Titan to my chocolate and gummi bears addiction as well!)

…and we got to find out that Baby Parker is a GIRL!!!

It totally took Broc and I by surprise. We were literally stunned and shocked at the news. So excited to be having a girl though and that Titan gets a sister!

We celebrated after the ultrasound by getting breakfast at the Egg & I.
(I am definitely going to miss that place when we move! SO yummy!)

We coordinated doctor’s appointments with Sonic Happy Hour!
(Don’t worry, that’s a Cherry Limeade, not a 44 oz. Diet Coke!)

…and went to yet another Lowe’s Build and Grow Event!

This time Titan got to make his own Claw Machine!

After the Lowe’s event we drove up to Littleton, dropped Titan off with his grandparents and enjoyed a lunch date at our favorite Schwarma restaurant followed by a session at the Denver Temple!

It was such a great way to spend our weekend!

Another weekend, we made waffles with homemade whip cream! (Well, Broc made the whip cream!)

…and Titan and I took full advantage of the $0.89 Custard deal at Freddy’s! Love my afternoon dates with this little man!

January 2014 in Review

In January…

Titan practiced his math skills…

I tried out a new Pina Colada smoothie recipe! (Recipe from Clean Simple Foodie)

So yummy!

We did our usual couponing runs to Target. (It was a REALLY good month for sales at Target!)

Titan gave me some Wii lessons. (Cutest Wii instructor ever!)

Ti also tried out the Rock Wall at our gym (Lifetime Fitness) for the first time.
(You have to be at least 5 years old and so Titan has patiently been counting down the months until he was old enough. Yes, his birthday was in November, but between vacations, it was January before we finally made it back to the gym again!)

We were amazed how fast Titan picked it up and we’ve had a hard time keeping him off the wall since. Thinking some rock climbing lessons might be in his future.

We also made some trips to Cold Stone!

…and did some Prenatal Yoga!

Best little yoga partner ever!

Broc flew to Pennsylvania last minute to interview at a hospital in Altoona.
He took my phone with him and had fun sending me pictures of his food. 🙂 I guess there’s not much else to do when you are eating out by yourself.
While he was in Pennsylvania, Titan spent some time at his grandparents, and I enjoyed a few days to myself. It was so strange not to have both my boys around but it was nice to rest and have some “me” time.
So glad Broc flew out to PA for this interview because he ended up getting the spot and it now means we will be moving to PA in June! Crazy how life works out sometimes.

Look at that yummy pizza! I can’t wait until I can try it myself when we move to PA in a few months!

Titan went to a Monsters University Party at Lifetime

…and we enjoyed a date night.

We went to a local restaurant called Nawlins and actually ended up really liking it! Titan has been asking to go there and so we’ll definitely have to go back with him sometime.
Titan got some fun gifts from his Disney Secret Service Pal and he enjoyed wearing his new Chima pajamas that were part of a two pack of pajamas I scored at Target for only $3.78! (That’s right, a two-pack of LEGO Chima pajamas for only $3.78! (Reg. $19.99) Told you it was a good month at Target!)

We also worked on chores and on giving Titan a little more responsibility.
We had  play dates with friends where Titan convinced Broc to play Pathfinder! (Like it takes a lot of convincing!) 😉

…and enjoyed getting all dressed up on Sundays for church! Love my little cheese ball!

Antigua
While we were in Antigua we did the Prickly Pear Island Adventure where you get to go out to a private island, enjoy the beach and have a yummy lunch. Some of Broc’s family had done this excursion before and they highly recommended it. The day started off a little tricky due to a massive rain storm and us almost not being able to get to the island. Luckily though, the storm came and went fairly quickly and then we were able to enjoy the rest of the day on the island.

Ti checking out the huge shell some of the cousins found while snorkeling.

Building Sand Castles with Boston and Sydney.

I LOVED having some time to relax in the sun and read.

Plus, the view was pretty awesome!

Look at that sand and water! Such a pretty island!

Playing football on the beach!

At every beach we went to Titan loved to just sit and run his hands through the water and sand. It’s probably during this time he contemplated the important things in life and mapped out the next ten years of his life… 😉

Titan at the Child Center that night. Each night we would check him into the Child Center for an hour or two after dinner while we went to a show or just enjoyed some adult time. It was a win win for everyone, especially since not all of the shows, comedians, etc. were especially age appropriate for a 5 year old. He had fun doing crafts, playing games and hanging out with other kids and we got to enjoy some down time as just adults after spending all day as a family. (I’m telling you, cruises are seriously the best way to travel because of all of the options!)
St. Maarten

The day we were in St. Maarten the family rented four wheelers and did a tour around the island. Broc and I agreed that it probably wasn’t the best idea to be pregnant and on a four wheeler and so I spent the day enjoying a “sea day” on board the ship! I’m not going to lie, it was by far one of my most favorite days. Plus, I needed the time to recuperate and gear up for the remaining days of the trip!
I got myself a nice yummy breakfast of toast and yogurt (pretty much what I ate every morning since it was the only food bland enough to keep my nausea at bay) and then laid out by the pool reading Divergent and ordering Chocolate Banana Smoothies!

On this trip I was able to start and finish both Mockingjay and Divergent and it was SO nice! I usually don’t have the time anymore to make it through an entire book. So to make it through two books was awesome! Definitely excited to read more of the Divergent series! (And to see the Divergent movie coming out in a few weeks!)

Once I had enjoyed enough sun, I made my way back to the room, ordered some cheesecake and then took a nap until the boys got back! (I seriously LOVE the room service and the service in general on cruises!)

I sent Broc four wheeling with our camera and here are a few of the photo’s he got. I love Ti’s obligatory smile in this one. 🙂

Scenic shot!

Titan with some of the rest of the family crew!
St. Thomas
The day we were in St. Thomas we took a ferry over to St. John and went to Trunk Bay. The bay was really pretty and has some good snorkeling but Broc and I both said that if we were in St. Thomas again we would go to Cocoa Bay instead. (We did Cocoa Bay on our last Caribbean Cruise and have definitely wanted to go back! Plus, it seemed it was less traveling, cheaper, and just as good of experience in our opinion as Trunk Bay. I was happy though that we got to see St. John because I’ve decided it’s definitely an island I’d like to go back to and spend more time one. Very pretty and tourist friendly!)

Trunk Bay

Titan being buried in the sand by Cousin Brody and Uncle Sean!

My boys! Love them!

EVERY time Titan is in the water his hair does this weird thing where it’s totally flat in the front and then sticking straight up in the back. I’m not sure if he pats it down in the front, or if it’s just something weird his hair does…LOL

The “taxi’s” we got to ride around in on the island.

The boys walking around some of the shops in St. John. Broc and Titan started to go into this Spice and Souvenir shop and as I was walking up the stairs I had to turn around  and let them go in by themselves. The smells did not go well with my nausea! I will definitely be happy when this pregnancy is over and my smell goes back to normal instead of being in overdrive all the time.
I was very happy though when someone found a coke machine on the island! And one with normal US Diet Coke! 🙂 Best tasting DC of the entire trip and it was ice cold!

The boys on our ride back to the ferry and to our last night on the cruise!

…and last, but not least, Ti enjoying a Sponge Bob ice cream at the airport on our way home from the trip! We were definitely sad to see this trip end. It was so nice to have all our meals taken care of, spend time together as a family, and enjoy LOTS of time in the sun!! Plus, it was fun to try out a different cruise line.
This was our first time cruising with Celebrity and while we liked them, we did decide that we prefer Princess over Celebrity. (We’ve done two Princess cruises and one Carnival cruise prior to this Celebrity cruise). The service on Celebrity and the kid activities, while awesome, were just not as awesome as we felt they were on Princess.  Of course, that’s the great thing about cruises…you are usually deciding between great service and even greater service! 🙂 So our list now goes: Princess, Celebrity, and then Carnival. 🙂

PS: This resort was on St. John’s and I am determined to go back and stay here sometime in our life! So gorgeous and right along the water!!!
