bridal shower eye candy

hello! i have decided to postpone telling you all about what i gave the bride to be, as the online shop i purchased my oh so fabulous gift from is closed for a week & once i tell you about this little shop, i’m sure you’ll all be wanting to be a visiting for yourself. so, i apologize that it will not be posted during this week focusing on all things shower related, but i’d rather you be able to actually access the website and see for yourself when i do indeed post about it.

don’t worry. i have other eye candy for you. the decor details of the shower are being unveiled at last. last week i only gave you a tiny tidbit, but today you get to see everything. enjoy!

the balloons. they finally made it to their rightful destination.
i had a wreath/item for the front door, but arrived to find this one already on it. perfect match to the colors and theme. apparently this is always up at this household. i love coincidences like that. i must say now that this is not my home. i can only dream & wish! it is our aunt’s home and it is gorgeous!
wish table. sorry about the lighting, still working on those photo skills. one of my favorite parts is the fresh roses from costco. they had green tinted roses, can i say score! they smelled heavenly and i have loved having them in my room since the shower!

B & S for brooke & sean. i found the faux crystals at hobby lobby and they were a perfect touch scattered around this table and the buffet area.

photo’s of the bride and groom were scattered in among the gifts & then sent home with the couple as mementoes from the shower along with the wish jar.

we used the gift from the mother of the bride for this centerpiece.
up close on the main arrangement by the food.

i fell in love with these diamond candlesticks – didn’t hurt they were also 50% off when i bought them! the tinfoil mound in the background happens to be the croissants in disguise. didn’t want them to get dry before the shower began.

i have been wanting an excuse to purchase this drink container for a couple years now. perfect for cooling drinks at any summer soiree, it is a delightful detail that is more decorative than two liters sitting on the counter or a random cooler full of drinks.

my husband’s side of the family is addicted to diet coke (i am too, so it’s a great match). knowing this, i made sure to have limes available to squeeze into the diet coke and i found a glass coke cup to store the bendy straws in. it’s all about the details for me. since the shower, i now use the coke cup and the leftover bendy straws to drink my diet coke with. it’s the next best thing to a fountain diet coke. i mean, it’s just so much more fun to drink anything in a glass with a bendy straw and slice of lime, rather than straight from the can.

the favors. how cute are these jars filled with green m&m’s and nuts. sweet & simple!

i saw this mini carriage and had to have it for the shower. i just added some ribbon & hung a diamond in the center. such a fun detail ~ don’t we all wish we were real true princess’s?

the gist of the food area. the arrangement is a little skiwompas in this photo. i promise it was centered when the shower began!

some pics i took of the main details before the shower. this arrangement was so whimsical and fun to put together.

i loved hanging these rings from the branches!
you will probably see these again in a christmas tree i’m planning!

i always include a bird somewhere in every event i plan. i even had a bird on my bridal bouquet when i got married. it’s just a fun little thing i do, a signature of sorts.

i never ended up being able to get a good pic of this arrangement at the actual shower. it was on the kitchen table to the side of the food area. now that the shower is over, this labor of love will be going in my bathroom when we get settled in colorado. it will also be seeing the addition of a ribbon around the center. i found some ribbon that has zebra and damask print all in one – it was love at first sight! i’ll take a pic, when i finally add it. i’m sure this arrangement will continue to be a work in progress as anything that stays in my sight for to long always gets fine tuned and altered. always.

the feathers really made this arrangement.

these are one of my new favorite flowers to put in arrangements. you will most likely be seeing them again in the wedding flowers coming up in august.
the back of the arrangement. you can’t forget the back!
well friends, that about wraps this series up. those are all the details of the shower (minus the post about gifts coming sometime next week!). i hope you had fun browsing the pictures. i wish the photos were a better quality, my camera currently just isn’t that good (actually i can’t blame my poor camera, it does its best with an unskilled photographer behind it). i also wish my budget had been bigger (don’t we all wish that though?) see, i know how to wish! 😉

regardless, planning this shower reminded me how much i love to create and design. it hardly ever feels like work to me, always play. am contemplating opening an event planning company once we are settled in colorado, you know starting small and growing from there?! they always say do what you love and the money will follow? maybe i’ll test that theory. i feel like this shower turned out fairly well (as did the three past weddings i planned) so i’m really toying with the idea….we shall see! i can’t wait until august when i can show you the bridal bouquet and the wedding flowers!!! i can’t even begin to tell you how much fun i’ve been having, turning my sister-in-laws likes and wants, into reality. now i just need someone else to get married that i know so i can keep the creative juices flowing! anyone? anyone?

ok I am in love with the flower arrangements you had on the kitchen counter with the food and the one in the room in front of the pink couch. i LOVE them. I can't believe you did so much for the shower! I bet she seriously appreciated it, it turned out wonderfully.

ps i entirely agree about drinks tasting better from a glass with a bendy straw.

Megan – Thanks! I've decided bendy straws are a must for all summer drinks. Also, the bride was very appreciative and actually we are now incorporating the arrangement you loved into her wedding reception. So, she must have like it too! 🙂 Hope you're enjoying your summer and getting lots of pool time in! 🙂
