can i just say i have a genius husband? we had family photo’s scheduled for next week and i was rather stressed over timing, clothing, payment, etc. as it is a crazy hectic time for us right now. we would literally be getting home from one vacation, have family photo’s the next day, and be leaving on another vacation two days after. brilliant planning right? not. all i knew when i scheduled it though was that i did not want to attempt family pictures again in december as it was way too cold, and that once broc is in medical school, there is no way i’ll be getting them in on an evening or a saturday, in september or october.
positively brilliant. have now been researching photographers in hawaii for our family photo’s. i love how my husband thinks. i am also loving the idea of having our family photo done on vacation in hawaii. that will definitely be something different and unique for us. ah! hawaii in january! the perfect way to break up winter & keep me motivated to stay in shape even after summer ends. so cannot wait!

broc thinks i’m a little obsessive demanding we have them taken approximately every year (sometimes its 10 months in between, other times 15 months) and by a professional photographer on location. i don’t do target or jcpenny for family photo’s, i’m too ocd and picky for that, it works for a lot of people, but not for me. so every year, i’m researching photographer’s and locations. what can i say, i’m a huge believer in documenting how our family changes. it could also be that i am fairly certain we have only one family photo from my growing up years that i can recall and i so do not want that to be the case for my now little family. yep, whether broc likes it or not, once a year we will be smiling for the camera whether at home or on vacation, it will be done. no excuses!

Once a year. Every year. And yes, my husband gripes about it too, because he says it doesn't change that much from year to year, but my family only has about 2 family photos, and the last one was taken 7 years ago when I got married.
