i love park city and more importantly i love the outlets in park city! so when i heard that my sister and mom were headed up there for an afternoon the saturday before we moved, i begged them to take me and the little man along.

i heart the outlets. give me an outlet mall and i am a happy camper for hours on end. all i need is a diet coke & a mrs. fields cookie (or two!) and i’m set to go. this trip was more fun though as it was with my mom and sister. we shopped almost until we dropped & even the little man had fun (he has been well trained* though!). the main stores we hit were aero, gap & gap kids, banana republic, american eagle, ann taylor & children’s place.

i would have loved to have also gone in the j crew and coach outlet stores but decided not to tempt myself! those store are dangerous (even at outlet prices!) and i did enough damage elsewhere without entering their lovely doors. i ended up getting a few shirts, some rash guards for next summer, a jacket, and some shoes for the little man. for myself, i got a cute summer shirt at aero for $6.00 and then splurged a little at ann taylor for a pair of shorts, some jewelry and a cute leopard print top! i love walking into a store and being told the whole store is 40% off, especially when it’s ann taylor and it’s an outlet!

i think the best deal was gap kids. i found some rash guards for the little man for only $2.99 each. you can’t beat that for a rash guard. i think those are the best invention ever for little swimming people! so excited to have found them so cheap & so adorable!!!

provo canyon

after the outlets in order to avoid traffic we decided to drive the long way home and go home through provo canyon. it was a gorgeous drive & a perfect way to end the day! am so glad my mom and sister didn’t mind the little man and i tagging along. have decided i could totally live in heber or midway, which are neighboring cities to park city. am fond of the idea of living on a few acres, owning a couple horses that live in a red barn, maybe owning chickens, having lots of room for the little man to run and roam, & strolling up and down a quaint main street on a lazy afternoon. of course, i am not a fan of the idea of living in the middle of nowhere. i still need civilization, shopping, restaurants etc. which is why i think midway/heber are so perfect. room to live but also everything you need right nearby. the perfect combo. texted the husband as we were driving through and told him i could live there & i did indeed mean it.

*by trained i mean my son has been acclimatized to shopping. he is well accustomed to dressing rooms, shopping carts, and strolls through the mall. he takes it all in stride and even helps pick out his own clothes. occasionally he requires a dum dum but mostly he’s got the shopping thing down, thank heavens! of course, considering three days after he was born he & i were out and about grocery shopping and hitting the mall (mervyn’s to be exact) he should be used to it by now. he’s never known life another way! lol
