it’s official, my little man is two! we were watching video’s of him a few nights ago and it’s amazing how much he’s changed and how quickly even from just a few months ago. i am so so glad i’ve always had the opportunity to stay home with him or take him to work with me because i can’t imagine missing any of the last two years with him! it all went by way too quickly…. way way way too quickly!
the following is a list of things i want to remember about him as he is right now. i know if i don’t document some of these things i’ll never remember them even a year from now…
- i love how when we go into get him in the mornings he always has at least two binkies, a sippy, and about three of his stuffed animals all crammed into his hands and under his chin. he knows what he needs.
- i love how he will randomly start pointing to and naming his eyes, ears, hair, mouth, nose & toes when we are driving in the car. he’ll do it over and over again like he’s practicing.
- i also love how he laughs hysterically when i start saying “singing, hot hot hot!” in the car. for some reason, he finds that really really funny. now he’ll even copy me and then laugh at himself.
- i love how he’ll say “dinosaur…rawr” or “monster…rawr” and put his hands up in claws. (i think aunt brooke and uncle sean taught him this one?)
- i love how sweetly he says “pweeese” while signing “more” at the same time when he would like more of something. i really like how he’s catching on that when he asks nicely for something, he’s more likely to get it.
- i laugh at when he shakes his booty or dances to theme songs. his current favorite songs are the themes to house and 24 when the credits are rolling. he always puts his hands in fists out to his side and does a little wiggle.
- i love how is vocabulary has grown leaps and bounds. he can pretty much say anything. favorite words are: treat, dinosaur, honey, pumpkin, skeleton, tackle, little einsteins, jesus, sorry, jack (as in jack bauer from 24), chill pill, oh man, oh no, oopsie, the phrase “the phone is ringing”… & many many more!
- i love that he’ll gather together all the toys from toy story when playing around the house. he’ll find a dinosaur, a potato head, a barbie & any other toy he recognizes from toy story and line them all up.
- i love how excited he gets about kids & about going to play with his friends.
- i love that he is still such a good sleeper, he has his moments, but overall he goes right down and takes great naps and sleeps 8-12 hours at night.
- i love how he notices everything. he is very detail oriented.
- i love how he is very concerned when people are hurt or even when his favorite tv characters are in some sort of trouble. he’s definitely a sensitive little guy.
- i love that right now he’ll go through the newspaper with me on sunday looking for the toy catalogs and then he flips through them over and over and over again all week long pointing to all his favorite characters.
- i love that he is still such a cuddle bug. he is very very generous with his hugs and kisses and cuddle time. he is definitely a little sweetheart!
- i find it hilarious that he’ll try to do “high five, bones, finger & hugs” with his friends and if they don’t know what to do, he’ll show them.
- i laugh when he calls tinker bell a “bug”. she isn’t tinker bell, she’s “bug”.
- i find it interesting what a neat freak he is. he’s our little helper when it comes to putting things in the garbage or picking up. he definitely picks up quickly and is showing traits of being a people pleaser! 🙂
- i also find it interesting that he is a stubborn little dude at times, he will sometimes get angry and has an angry face that will make anyone laugh. it’s hilarious. reminds me of heat miser from that christmas show?
- i laugh that he’ll call a hair in the bathtub a “snake”.
- i think it’s hilarious that he’ll copy my tone on certain words like “oopsie” & “honey”.
- i love that he knows that mcdonalds is where we get “coke”
- i love that he takes after me when it comes to all things chocolate and sweet! he can sniff out chocolate just like his mom. he’s not so dumb!
- …and last (for now at least) i love how inquisitive and smart he is. i love seeing the world through his eyes. i love how everything is so exciting and new to him.
i’ll probably add some more to this list throughout the week as i think of things but that’s a good start for now.
